Dry week allows more harvesting in Wisconsin

Wisconsin remained mostly dry last week, which kept harvesting and tillage machinery moving.  USDA reporters say just over six days were suitable for fieldwork in the week ending Sunday.

The corn for grain harvest is now 12% complete as 80% of the crop is mature.  Statewide, the corn moisture averages 23%.  Seventy-three percent of the crop is rated either good or excellent.  Ninety-one percent of the corn silage is also harvested.

Ninety-four percent of the soybeans are dropping leaves and the harvest is 31% complete.  Seventy-three percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.
