CDC recommends everyone ages 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine each year to prevent sickness from the flu. It takes about two weeks for the flu vaccine to protect against the virus, so make a plan today to get yourself and your family vaccinated.

Monroe County Health Department is offering quadrivalent vaccine for those less than 65 years of age, as well as high dose vaccine for those 65 years of age and older. We can bill Medicare, Medical Assistance, Senior Preferred, and third party insurance companies to cover the $30 charge for regular vaccine and $65 for high dose vaccine.

In addition to getting your flu shot, take these extra steps to stop the spread of germs:

  • Stay home if you’re sick
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Wash your hands often
  • Clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces and objects
